We want you to feel fully prepared and confident before your procedure. Our team is here to guide you through each step to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience.

Pre-Operative Testing

Communication

You may receive up to two phone calls before your procedure:

  2. Business Office Call: To discuss insurance coverage, co-payments, and deductibles. Link to financial tab

What to Bring

  • A photo ID and insurance card
  • Payment method for any co-pays or deductibles
  • A current list of medications

Any paperwork provided by your physician
Please leave jewelry, cash, and valuables at home.

Transportation

For your safety, you must arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home and stay with you for 24 hours after your surgery. Patients will not be permitted to leave alone or drive themselves. Link to transportation release form.

Eating and Drinking

Unless otherwise instructed, do not eat or drink anything after midnight on the night before your surgery. This includes water, gum, and candy. Your nurse will review any specific medication instructions during your pre-operative call.

Safety and Prevention

To ensure you have the right procedure at the correct site, your team will verify your name, date of birth, and procedure several times.

  1. Follow shower or cleansing instructions carefully.
  2. Avoid shaving near the surgical site before surgery.
  3. Keep your dressing clean and dry after surgery.

Pregnancy and Pediatric Patients

If you think you may be pregnant, please notify your nurse and physician right away.
If your child is having surgery, one parent or guardian must remain in the facility at all times. A comfort item such as a blanket or stuffed animal may be brought to help ease anxiety.

Day Of Your Surgery

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by our registration staff, who will confirm your information and guide you through the check-in process. You’ll then change into a surgical gown, and a nurse will begin preparing you for surgery.

Your surgeon and anesthesiologist will meet with you before your procedure to review your plan and answer any final questions.

What to Wear

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Remove all jewelry, contact lenses, and body piercings before arriving.

Family and Visitors

Family or friends may stay with you until you’re taken to surgery. They will be notified when your procedure is complete and can join you during the recovery phase once you’re awake.

Smoking and Tobacco

Please refrain from smoking or using any tobacco or nicotine products on the day of surgery, as this may interfere with anesthesia and healing.

Anesthesia

Your anesthesiologist will determine the safest and most effective anesthesia for you, which may include:

  • Local (numbing a small area)
  • Regional (numbing a larger area)
  • Sedation (“twilight”)
  • General anesthesia (you are fully asleep)

You may receive a mild sedative to help you relax. Anesthesia services are billed separately from the facility. It is essential that you follow all fasting instructions for your safety.

Get Excited

You will recover in our post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), where your nurse will monitor you until you’re ready to go home. Most patients are discharged within one to two hours, depending on the procedure and anesthesia used.
